Week 14

Very exciting week! We went to the doctor on Monday, as Aidie still wasn't pooping properly... even after everything we had done. We now have her on stool softner- miralax. IT WORKS!!!! For the first time in her life, Aiden is pooping like a baby! I cried. I actually cried when she pooped for the first time like she should. It has been so awful to watch her struggle in pain these past three months. To finally see her able to have a bowel movement without pain is beyond wonderful. Especially as her last hard stool came with a little bit of blood.
She has been happy all day today! Granted we have changed about ten poopy diapers, but I don't even care. It is totally worth it if that is what it takes for her to feel better. I am really looking forward to the crying fits during sleep to end and many happy, healthy days ahead.
When we went to the doctor, we discovered that, with clothes and needing a diaper change, she weighed 13lbs. 10z. So, naked and clean diapered, she probably weighs about 12lbs. 10oz. or so. She is getting so big! Still long and skinny, but big!
She is sitting up so well these days. She isn't wobbly at all when we put her in the bumbo seat and she even sits for a moment in the boppy without falling. She is getting steadier on her feet when she hold our hands. She is also grabbing at toys for the first time. She was sitting in her bouncy seat and grabbed the musical pull chain by herself. It was so exciting! I can't believe how fast she is growing up. It makes me cry when I think that some day she will one day be an adult with her own family and not needing me anymore, but it is still such a wonderful blessing to watch her as she grows.
We also went to the fair this past week. We took Aidie to see the animals and exhibits. She slept through most of it, but woke up for the smaller animals. She really enjoyed looking at the birds and rabbits. So fun! We also got to look at the pictures daddy entered in the fair for the first time. Five blue ribbons and a champion. Good job Daddy!

Week 13

Well, I have FINALLY caught Aidie on film. I can (kind of) prove that she is rolling over. She did it three times the other day. Yippee! Very active child :-) She is constantly wiggling, wanting to sit or stand and chattering away. Daddy has started playing the blanket parachute game with her. She LOVES it. What a busy little girl we have!
She had her first shot vaccination this week- the pnuemococcal vaccine. She did really well. The only affect I noticed was her being a bit more sleepy. She wasn't even fussy. If anything, it made her mellow- unlike her usual busy, high strung self. Not saying she is a nervous baby, just demanding and impatient. Haha! I am her mother, right? High maintenance woman, here we come ;-)
We also went to a friend's birthday party this past week. Auntie Savanna turned 24 and we were there to watch her blow out the candles. Aidie also got to meet Lynn and Sally, whom she enjoyed. Overall, it was a nice time.

Fourth of July Pictures and Such

Well, the last time I posted I didn't have the latest pictures uploaded to the computer. Now that I have done that, I will post for your enjoyment :-)

Aidie sporting Uncle Johnnie's hat... she is so very cool ;-)
Uncle Johnnie with short hair playing "Super Baby!"
Uncle Ted home from Rio
One of those beautiful smiles I've been telling you about!
Have I mentioned that she LOVES to kick stuff lately? She is pretty sure that moving her toys with her feet is the coolest thing EVER! Although Daddy is less thrilled as he has to be careful how he holds her... hehehe...

Week 12

Week 12 has brought us to the point of fewer naps. It seems we are now only interested in napping twice a day. Is that even normal for a twelve-week-old? Well, that's what she is doing. Here is the typical schedule:
Official Wake up: 7:30am
Nap: 9:30 to 11am
Nap: 3pm to 5:30pm
Goodnight: 10pm
Middle of the night feeding: 4:30am

If anyone finds this extremely irregular, please let me know.... I just find it a little strange, but she is happy and energetic!
She is really interested in getting moving. She is always kicking around, waving her arms and wanting to "walk" or "stand". She is a bubble machine and loves to smile and laugh. We are having so much fun with her.
We are having a much easier time with the bottle these days. Only burping at the end and we don't have to give her nearly so many breaks! Yippee! I think we are finally finding the light at the end of the tunnel!

Week 11

We finally had our two month check up yesterday! Aiden is measuring up very well.
Head: 38.5cm- 25%
Weight: 11lbs. 1oz.- 50%
Height: 23 1/2inches- 75%

So, as I've been remarking: Long, thin and a small head. Hahaha! Well, it works for her... She is the cutest little thing I've ever seen- even if she is my own :-)
We also started her vaccinations. We are going to be doing them in individual doses every two weeks. We started with the oral vaccination Rotavirus yesterday. It has the least effect on children. So I thought this was a good way to start. She won't start getting the injections for another two weeks. By that time, she will be three months old. The older she is, the more comfortable I feel. The doctor and nurses were very nice about it all. The nurse is even checking to see if we can split up the Diptheria, tetnus & Pertusis vaccine, which is usually administered as a three in one. Hopefully, we will be able to find a way to split it up a bit. I just think these vaccines are so hard on little bodies. While I don't want her to get sick, I also don't want her suffering from the vaccinations either. Waying the odds... argh! Why is there sickness in the world! Any way... she has done fine with this first vaccine (as it's oral). Hopefully she will do just as well with all the others!
We have been in an excellent mood for the last few days. She is happy so much and wanting to play and smile. It's wonderful to watch her be so interested in the things around her and happy to be with us. I just love it when she smiles at us! There is no better feeling in the whole world!

So it's been a while...

Dan and I switched internet providers and we are now getting internet through Verizon. While that means that we get internet wherever we want, it also means that we have a usage limit before they start charging extra. As we used it up too quickly, we've had to conserve. This has meant, sadly, no blogging updates :-( But we are back and much more aware of how we can use our new internet situation. So we should have no problems in the future getting out the regular updates.
Any way...
Since we last updated A LOT has happened!
Continuing Week 7: We got a visit from Aunt Julie, Grandma Mary, Rachel and little Miss Ella! We had a great time watching the girls play. It was so fun to watch them interact a little bit. I can't wait until they get a little bit bigger and they really get interested in playing together! It was definitely funny to see how long Aiden is these days. She isn't ever around babies near her own age. So this was the first comparison I had seen of her next to a baby near her own age. Skinny and long... taking after Uncle Matt? It's a possibility!Week 8: This was fruit picking week! It seems all the berries decided to get ripe this week. So Aiden got her first "taste" of cherry picking. Aiden really enjoyed the outside time. We are coming to find out that our little girl seems to be at her best and happiest when she is spending time out of doors. It is so fun to see her come alive and get very interested in the things around her. She has been getting very awake... she stays up and is so interactive. We are having so much fun with her these days! She is also starting to sit up supported and drooling so much!Week 9: We started sucking our thumb! It's not a regular habit... she prefers the whole fist. She has been going crazy on her fingers. In fact she has been so determined to suck on her hands that she ends up gagging herself at least once a day... oh well. At least she's not puking. She is also eating SO much. We are eating about 3.5ounces every feeding, plus nursing! Hungry girl. We also got a visit from cousin Jilly this week. Yeah for visitors!Week 10: Happy Father's Day, Grammy's birthday and Mommy and Daddy's 2nd anniversary! This was a very busy week for us! First we had Daniel's first Father's Day. Aidie and I made daddy breakfast in bed and gave daddy the old starwars trilogy special collection blah blah blah. He was excited and will now stop bothering me about getting them on DVD. Dan had to work, so we saw our daddies/grandpas early in the day. We got some good pictures and Mark actually held Aiden again. I swear it's like pulling teeth to get that man to get close to his grandbaby, whereas I can hardly get her away from the other grandpa... crazy how different two people can be. We also have the last pictures of John with long hair. He has chopped it, prior to his trip to Chicago and looks like a grown man instead of teenage kid. I can't believe it!We also had Ryan and Danae's wedding this past week. Wow was it HOT!!! Either way we had a good time socializing, the bride was beautiful, the groom was the happiest I've ever seen him (which is saying a lot as I've known him forever) and the wedding party was sweating like crazy, but I think everyone had a fun and memorable day. Aiden was so well behaved and happy! No crying fits until the last half hour before we left. Plus the violinist played her her very own solo. Inspiration? Maybe.Other big updates- She is sleeping through the night!!! Eight hour stretches. She has been waking up at 6:30 sharp every day for the last week and a half. Early, but if she sleeps eight hours, I'm happy. She is also smiling at familiar faces. Every morning, I'm greeted with a big smile. I love the acknowledgement and love on her face. It is worth everything and anything!

Week 7

We have had lots of fun this past week. Besides the fact that Aiden is now rolling over, reaching and grabbing for toys, and being awake other than for feedings, we have had lots of other fun experiences!
First, we took a trip to the Newport aquarium, which I'm not sure was worth it in the after thoughts. It was a very long drive and afterward Aiden had a low grade temperature and didn't straighten out for three days :-( But she is fine now and we have some nice pictures. It will be fun to show her pictures of her first big outing when she gets older. We did have a nice time, but I think next time we decide to take a big excursion we will have to take a few days instead of just one. That will give us more time and less rush- which always seems to be part of our lives as of late... can't imagine why ;-)
We also had Faythe's wedding this past Saturday. I can't believe Aiden and Ella slept through the whole thing! No screaming babies to interrupt the ceremony. A miracle! She was wide awake by the reception, however. We have some great pictures! Aiden absolutely LOVED dancing. It was so much fun. Dan did all the videography work. So we didn't get to spend much time together until the end, but we still had a good time. The happy couple looked like they had a great time too! All together a nice day!
After they got Faythe and Jared shipped off to Tennessee, Aunt Julie, Grandma Mary, Rachel and Ella came over for a visit. It was so sweet to watch the girls "play" together. I can't wait for them to get a little bit bigger. Ella is already taking an interest in Aiden, but Aiden hasn't quite noticed her yet. I'm sure by their next visit, Aiden will be up to a more interested interaction. Putting the girls side by side was so interesting. It makes it so much more apparent how long and skinny Aiden is... not at all like mom and dad! How funny! Maybe she'll be tall and skinny like uncle Matt?
